Beta-stage draft
Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 15, 2026
Eternity Guest exists to preserve the most personal kind of content there is — the memory of a life. We treat your archive with that responsibility. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we do with it, and the controls you have. It is a beta-stage draft and will be finalized before general launch.
1. What we collect
We collect: account information you provide (name, email, profile details); content you upload (memories, photos, video, audio, written entries, documents, vault items); metadata generated by the service (timestamps, vault membership, sharing settings, audit logs); and limited technical information needed to operate the service securely (IP address, device type, error logs, rate-limit state).
2. How we use it
Your data is used to operate the service for you: storing and displaying your memories, enabling sharing and executor access you configure, securing your account, preventing abuse, and improving reliability. We do not sell personal data and we do not use private content to train third-party AI models.
3. AI-assisted organization & search
With your participation, we use AI to transcribe audio, suggest chapters, generate summaries, and power semantic search across your archive. Embeddings derived from private content are scoped to your account and protected by the same access controls as the underlying content. You can opt out of AI features in settings.
4. Privacy of private content
Private memories, vault items, and direct messages are accessible only to you and the people you explicitly invite. Access is enforced at the database layer (row-level security), at the media layer (signed URLs that expire), and at the search layer (semantic results never cross account boundaries). Public profiles and memories you mark as public are visible to anyone with the link.
5. Executors, beneficiaries & legacy access
You can designate trusted people to receive access to parts of your archive under conditions you set. Their permissions are scoped to what you grant. Executor and vault tools are an aid to legacy planning; they do not by themselves constitute a legally binding estate document.
6. Sharing with third parties
We share data only with infrastructure providers needed to run the service (hosting, storage, email delivery, AI inference) under contracts that restrict their use of your data. We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose data when legally required, and where permitted we will tell you first.
7. Security
Content is transmitted over TLS and stored on encrypted infrastructure. Private media is served via short-lived signed URLs. Access is gated by row-level security policies and per-action authorization checks. We maintain audit logs of sensitive actions. No system is perfectly secure; please tell us immediately if you suspect a problem.
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export, and delete your content at any time from the app. You can request a copy of your account data, restrict certain processing, or close your account. Deletion removes content from active systems promptly and from backups within a reasonable retention window.
9. Retention
We keep your content while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from active systems and from backups on a rolling schedule. Limited records may be kept where required by law (for example, to comply with tax or fraud-prevention obligations).
10. Children
Eternity Guest is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Do not create an account on behalf of a child without legal authority to do so.
11. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards to protect international transfers.
12. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice before taking effect.
13. Contact
